PROTECTION DOGS
A Watchdog Protection Dog is a multi-purpose Protection dog whose
primary duty is that of Protection. Beyond a protection dog that guards
home and property a Watchdog Protection dog is a Protection dog that will be integrated into your family. Our dogs at Watchdog will accompany you at work, on family outings, while running errands, along with many other of life’s activities. Watchdog Protection dogs are trained to the same standards and levels as Police Service Canines and should always be treated as a working service dog.
DETECTION DOGS
The primary duty of a Watchdog Detection team is that of location. The
handler and K-9 are to be considered one unit with the primary task of
locating narcotics and the contraband that is associated with narcotic use.
Watchdog Narcotic Detection teams are trained and maintained to the
same level as Police Service Detection Canines. They are held to the same certification standards as Law Enforcement Canine teams and are maintained to the same training standards. They are trained to detect (sniff out) illicit narcotics and indicate the location of narcotics to the handler.

Our Start
From the time that each of us were young, we have all had a love for dogs. It was this love that turned into a passion for training and ultimately a professional career working with dogs full-time and fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming a police canine handler.
As a police handler we have been able to experience a dog’s loyalty in the purest and rarest of ways. Asking our dogs to accomplish tasks that we could not do without them and asking them to do things that were against their nature to ensure our safety and to get the job done, has given us the deepest respect for our canines. Many of these tasks were not easy, and some were accompanied by bumps and bruises. With these bumps and bruises came a bond; a bond that was formed by a trust that only a small percentage of people can understand. It’s a trust that goes down the leash and then back up. It’s this same trust that made us put in the long hours and years of hard work to ensure that we made it home safe and so did our fellow officers.
Our story has now evolved to offering the same love, loyalty, trust, and hard work that we were so privileged to experience. By raising, training, and offering trained protection dogs we are able to offer you with a companion you can trust. Watchdog protection dogs are trained to the same level as a police service canine and are kind enough to greet and live with children.
Brett Moore
Brett has a military background and his passion for dogs started by training hunting dogs. Throughout the years he has won countless titles, in various field trials, and has led many hunting demonstrations. Brett gives all our dogs a strong foundation in socialization and believes in exposing a dog to as many situations and new surroundings as possible.
Zachary Moore
Like his father Brett, Zachary started off training hunting dogs. Zachary has moved into the world of obedience training. All Watchdogs live with Zachary and his family to start. This is where they learn basic obedience and are house trained.
Robert Johnson Jr.
As a certified police officer for the Manchester Police Department, Robert is currently assigned to the East Central Narcotics Task Force. Robert holds many titles including multiple sectional wins at Connecticut K-9 Olympics (I.E. Tactical Obedience, Obstacles) two overall first place wins at Connecticut K-9 Olympics (2009 and 2012), an overall first place in 2007, Third Place at the Connecticut Hard Dog Competition, Overall Patrol Division World Police Champion , and Overall Champion at the Fire Games K-9 Competition.
